About us
The Department of Early Childhood Education aims to nurture experts in the field who are able to scaffold holistic development of children as well as who contribute to the development of the academia. To this end, the department provides opportunities for prospective teachers to enhance philosophical, social, and psychological understandings about education and children. In addition, the department offers various courses more directly related with major such as Early Childhood Curriculum, Methods of Teaching and Learning, and Science/Math (and other subject areas) for Children. By providing rich field experiences the department helps students explore related theories and practices systematically, then synthesize them.
Career
The graduates of our department can get the Certificate of Kindergarten Teacher Level 2 as well as the Certificate of Child Care Teacher Level 2. With these certificates, the graduates are able to work in public/private kindergartens or child care centers as a teacher or an administrator. Also, looking for a research position or a teaching position at a college or university might be a possible option, if you attend our graduate school and earn a Master or Doctoral degree.
